Review - Knox (Knox, #1) by Cassia Leo

This is story is way too good to just be a novella, its gonna be tortue waiting for the next installment. Rebecca is a cop and the daughter of a mobster and is contacted by Knox to do a favor for her father who was arrested for a murder she saw him commit. That murder change her forever and was huge part as to why she made the choice to become a cop. Knox seems to have his own agenda what that is exactly I don't know. Though now that we know the man that he use to be and what he went through I have an inkling of an idea. Becky is feisty, tough, sensitive yet she doesn't take crap from anyone which may be her downfall. How bad did she screw up the job we dont know. We find out that Knox is an old friend she knew from Bensonhurst. Which leaves me with multiple questions that need to be answered. Like what does he have planned for her and her father? What has he been up to in all these years? I think my two main questions is who August and how does he fit into this?

Review - Trust (Night Calls #3.5) by J.C. Valentine

I've missed this pair who we've previously met in 'Stranded' when their love story began. Felix and Poppy are still living happily in their two places (his condo and her country home) but Felix is keeping a secret. In hopes of giving Poppy the surprise of lifetime begans to keep a secret and due to her past with her ex Jimmy she begans to think the worse. Which is heightened when she arrives at his condo set surprise him, when he walks in with a female friend one look and the distrust turns into a full blown misunderstanding that leaves them both miserable. Felix after advice from a friend decides to make things right and risk everything. Once the truth of his surprise is revealed (cue the tears) Felix, Poppy, and Bo are soon to be united as one happy family. A beautiful love story I couldn't be happier for the pair.

Review - Demon Possession (Shadow Quest, #1) by Kiersten Fay

The story started out slow but I think that was necessary as a build up to the action and the heart of the story. Anya is a princess (unbeknownst to her) turned slave who finally gets a taste of freedom by escaping on board a merchant ship where she literally falls for the captain Sebastian. It was fun reading as she began unsolving the mystery of who she was and how she could find people just like her. Finding out about her fear of letting people know about her power and the captor who will do just about anything to get her back. When the denial was over they gave in to their attraction. She found love for the first time with the ships sexy captain the demon Sebastian. Once their love was sealed, and her captor was dealt it was time to follow her fate. Excited to read the next installment where they try to save the brother they had to leave behind and the family they must find order to end a war with a common enemy.

Review - Affirmation (Legal Affairs #6) by Sawyer Bennett

I had a little hope that Mac and Matt's relationship would survive. Matt began to slowly and not so subtlety push her away. After Matt's final move she is left with no choice. Rather than see him everyday and relive the heartbreak she decides to start her own firm with his former best friend. When faced with the choice to wallow in his pain and walk away from the woman who transformed his life. I began to think that Matt was going to let Mac walkaway when his ex best friend calls Mac and tells her that Matt has forgiven him. Which due to the level of pain he caused was a big step towards Matt's healing. So Mac decided leaving his firm to start her own was best. She moved her firm into the same building as Matt's. So that pesky office dating co-workers rule is null and void. Just to prove that he has indeed healed from his past he opened his heart fully to Mac by proposing. Completely willing to share his life with her. His ex-wife is still a pain but I'm grateful and happy that he is no longer letting her get in the way of their happiness. I can't wait to read Matt's POV.

Review - Redemption by Julie Morgan

I've been waiting for this installment it seems like forever and it did not disappoint. We find that Lisa's pregnancy is progressing rather fast though seeing as she was impregnated by a demon/angel hybrid its not much of an surprise. Though what was a surprise was the changes that occurred as a result. Through the story until the end I was on pins and needles wondering just what would happen to Lisa when she gave birth and when it did would she be able to survive. I think I was slightly as nervous as Alex. Samuel was back in the picture plotting not only to take get rid of Alex and take Lisa as his own but to harness the power of their child. It seems that Lisa was tortured with haunting and confusing dreams which may have been dreams her  unborn child was having who in the child's  way was trying to convey what was happening. The birthing scenes and what came after that was so hard to read. I was so upset thinking that Alex and Lisa had been through so much to have things happen this way.  Then I realize something important which I don't want to give away. I'll just say things happened as they were meant to happen. As soon as she made her choice to be with Alex I knew that this was the only possible outcome. Though now what does the future hold for their family? What is the true nature of their child's power? How will she deal with the life changes after giving birth to a hybrid baby and marrying a hybrid and the changes her body went through after and during birth? I'm hoping to learn more about the origin of Samuel and just when or if he will ever stop trying to harness the power of Lisa and Alex's child.

Review - Reparation (Legal Affairs, #5) by Sawyer Bennett

Mac told Matt she wanted more she needed more though Matt tried to deny it he wanted the same. Without the other the were miserable. Things at work was going great. The time that they spent together it was like a real couple. Mac finally met his son and instantly fell in love with the little. A shorter version of Matt. Along with meeting her son she finally met his Ex-wife. The reason why Matt had closed his heart off and was resolved to live his life on hook ups after hook ups. It broke my heart to see that all the work to open his heart back may be have been for nothing. I'm hoping that Mac can love him enough to keep from going back down that dark path because he has been a happier man since he let Mac into his life. I can't wait to see the future holds for them in the next installment. The seem like they are perfect for each other. I hope that Mac can love Matt enough despite the vindictiveness of his Ex wife.

Review - Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover

OH MY GOD!!!! I have a new favorite book boyfriend. Ridge wasn't just another hot guy playing guitar he was something more, something special. As soon as Sydney and Ridge started communicating there was an instant attraction. I had no doubt that Ridge loved Maggie but then you couldn't deny the undeniable attraction and connection that Ridge had to Sydney. It was in Ridge's character to love and protect which was made clear the first night that Sydney moved in and the history of his and Maggie's relationship. Sydney and Ridge shared a bond with music but it turned into a way that they were able to convey the underlying feelings that they had for each other. The beautifully, haunting, and heartbreaking songs they created just stole my heart. I can't forget to mention Bridgette and Warren and their relationship it was unconventional to say the least but when its love, its love. Bridgette is the kind of girl you love to hate but I'd like to think that she has that up as defense mechanism, there is so much more to the story. Warren how could you not love him? Rude, inappropriate, and hysterically funny. I love that once Sydney moved in she became instant family and part of the inside jokes the had going i.e. toothpaste Oreo. Learning along with Sydney that Ridge was deaf was an interesting twist to the story. It was interesting how they were able to communicate with each other. When he did speak to Sydney for the first time tears, tears, and tears. Essentially every word he spoke thereafter. There were no excuses between him and Sydney just raw truth. Just like he does to Sydney every word seems to pierce my heart. Ridge was selfless still willing to sacrifice his happiness to be with Maggie. It was a terrible breakup but you see that they were better off as friends. You can't share someones life like that and not hold apiece of their heart. Sydney was his heart and his destiny. When Sydney finally communicated in ASL 'when' and when they finally made love *sigh* I was surprised I could read through the tears. Do men like Ridge exist and if so where can I find one?

Review - Deliver by Pam Godwin

Seriously not your typical love story. In the Darkness of Liv's world she was lead to Josh knowing and not knowing that they would be each others saviors. He was just suppose to be another slave a means to keep life as 'normal' as possible and protect those she loves most. During the course of his slave training love blossomed. Liv is torn between having a life with the man she fell in love with and protecting those she loves most even though they had no idea she was alive or existed. It was a dirty, heartbreaking, and beautiful. Love seems to happen in the most unlikely of places and somehow the characters find a kindred  spirit with the other. Van her partner in crime finally frees her although I know it had to break his heart to do so. In some messed up and twisted way he truly loved her. Josh broke away from the mold that his parents created for him and carved a lifestyle that he could finally live without expectations of any other than being happy with the woman he loves. Josh makes Liv realize she was deserving of being loved and though she has many faults was worthy of being redeemed. Which lead them to find freedom in each other. I guess I should take some comfort in that fact that I only have to wait until this summer to read her sequel. With Pam's take on heartbreaking, dirty, and gut wrenching love stories makes her one of my favorite authors and I will look forward to reading more of her work.

Review - Crashed (The Driven Trilogy #3) by K. Bromberg

I thought I would try and savor this book but tried as I did I was rarely able to put it down. I held my breath as the story continued where 'Fueled' left off. I wanted with baited breath to see if Colton survived. I felt the fear, the hurt, the anticipation right along with Rylee but Colton's pov just punched me in the gut and wrenched at my heart. Thankfully he survived the accident but then he was really saved. Forced to into a fight or flight mode where thankfully he had chosen to fight. To fight for the future he deserved. Fight to realize that love doesn't have to hurt. Fight to let go of the pain of first 8 years of his life that dictated the 20+ years of his life. Finally acceptance and appreciation for what was given to him although his actions always said more than words ever could say. I felt every possible conceivable human emotion for Colton when he was holding Rylee at the track. When he had no words all he finally confessed the truth to Rylee and when all he could do was cry and hold her like she would just disappear. I think I fell more in love with him right along with Rylee right then. When he FINALLY knocked down the final wall that stood between and said those 3 words I've hoped he'd say all I could do was cry silent emotional tears. (This is just a story right?) Did I ever fall more in love with Becks, Colton's non-blood brother. He always knew just what to say to make Colton think, bring levity, or just make him realize that Rylee was the whole alphabet. I'm so curious if Haddie and Becks will ever get together both with the same personality and sense of humor. Not only did we get an Epilogue but we got 2 and *sigh* one just happened to be from Colton's point of view which i just love. Not the kind of life I saw Colton having when I was introduced to him in Driven but it was one I prayed he would have after he let the baggage of his go fully. The end of the trilogy I'm a little sad but appreciate and adore the ending. Colton was still Colton. Sexy and arrogant as ever a little older but all around much more wiser. Colton will always be my 'ace' (a chance encounter) and my 'checkered flag.

Review - Rare and Precious Things (The Blackstone Affair, #4) by Raine Miller

I was so happy to see how much Brynne and Ethan's love for each other has changed them. To see how and the many ways that Brynne's love has made Ethan a better man made my heart smile. I also adored the way she loved Ethan. Her bravery is something to be admired. Even seeing Ethan with the little one (swoon). I know its a long road but I'm so grateful he's finally getting help which I'm thankful to Brynne for giving him the courage to do. With her bravery and his strength working together there's nothing they can't do.

Review - Arielle: Immortal Awakening (Immortal Rapture #1) by Lilian Roberts

Didn't know what to make of this book but right away I found myself intrigued in this unique story. Arielle grew up being just a little bit different than everyone else but outside of having that ability to hear what goes on inside the of others heads she had no idea what(who) else existed in the world. As in finding out the love of your life is centuries old, immortal, and has an ex who wants nothing more than to see him miserable for the rest of his existence. There wasn't a dull part in the story and I found myself anxiously anticipating what happens as I turned the page. Before I knew it the book was over. Definitely an interesting read. So many questions I would love to have answered. Like what is salve and how does one become one of the immortal? I look forward to continuing Arielle and Sebastion's story. There has to be more to the would be sabotage of his company and I know we haven't seen or heard the last of Annabel.

Review - Craved (Adam & Ella #4) by Emily Jane Trent

Sometimes you just fall so in love with characters that you don't want to see them go. Adam and Ella are just as in love as when we left them after Ella received that beautiful proposal. The wedding ceremony was beautiful and had me in tears. It still surprises me the amount of love Adam pours over Ella. The way he looks at her, touches her, and speaks to her. (Where's my Adam? *sigh*) She became this beautiful, strong, and confident woman I always knew she could be. She was even able to mend the relationships with her mother and sister with seeing how close Adam is to his own family this news made me really happy. With love in his life Adam became an even better man and not even his father good kill the goodness that was lives in his heart. After a blissful honeymoon tragedy strikes but with Adam his resources and brilliance I knew things would be as it should. Though there were moments I had to hold my breath. Finally without enemies they are free to love and live as two people in love should be. After everything they've been through at the beginning of their relationship I think it’s well deserved.

To Be Released Prejudice meets Pride by Rachael Anderson & Giveaway

After years of pinching pennies and struggling to get through art school, Emma Makie’s hard work finally pays off with the offer of a dream job. But when tragedy strikes, she has no choice but to make a cross-country move to Colorado Springs to take temporary custody of her two nieces. She has no money, no job prospects, and no idea how to be a mother to two little girls, but she isn’t about to let that stop her. Nor is she about to accept the help of Kevin Grantham, her handsome new neighbor, who seems to think she’s incapable of doing anything on her own.

Fun, compelling, and romantic, Prejudice Meets Pride is the story of a guy who thinks he has it all figured out and a girl who isn't afraid to show him that he doesn't. It’s about learning what it means to trust, figuring out how to give and to take, and realizing that not everyone gets to pick the person they fall in love with. Sometimes, love picks them.
